MÁV INFORMATIKA Kft. has particularly broad experience in building highly complex individual IT systems, as well as in tailoring and rolling-out applications to meet clients' needs. This experience ranges from embedded systems to PC-based and mainframe applications. It includes batch systems with extra large processing capacity, client server-based architecture and Internet technology in equal measure.

We can draw upon and combine high levels of technical know-how in the fields of logistics, transport and public administration.

We have some 100 employees working in this field and together, they represent a highly significant portion of application development capacity in the Hungarian IT sector. Their work in the field includes system design, software development (programming) and project management, as well as the perhaps more familiar areas of transaction and process design. We are able to integrate the systems we build into a wide range of software, hardware and network environments, even in cases where there is a complex combination of more than one system.

Within the context of our IT and purchasing consultancy services, all of this experience is placed at our clients' disposal. This means that when re-designing their business processes, they can exploit the advantages offered by modern technology to the greatest possible extent.

Reliability and methodology

In many areas, logistics and public transport require solutions with large processing capacity, which have to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without errors or system crashes. In order to meet these expectations, in addition to conventional quality control in the area of version management, we have developed procedures for development, testing and operation, which guarantee that service be maintained uninterrupted and without error. Our procedures are based on internationally recognised methodology and they have proven their worth in the over 60 systems we have developed.

Technology

The development cycle for large scale systems lasts several years and so requires the concurrent and integrated use of different technologies. These include client server-based NONSTOP SQL transaction applications, tailor-made, Oracle-based developments and Oracle Financial and OFA systems, analytical systems based on SAS 9 data warehouse, ".net" (dotnet) and JAVA-based communications technology and portal systems. Thanks to our IT specialists' professional know-how, we can provide services across a broad spectrum from conventional operational procedures and modern customer services, by running the above applications concurrently and in an integrated way.

High profile projects

Systems developed by MÁV INFORMATIKA Kft. include those running numerous key business processes for the rail divisions of MÁV Zrt. and MÁV CARGO operations. This includes a broad range of rail and commercial transport management tasks, from processing orders to internal, domestic and international payments. We connect quantified performance for the divisions of MÁV Zrt. with the accounting and controlling systems of our MÁV Zrt. subsidiaries, through clearing for public transport services, rail haulage services and track use fees.
